New hot food display cabinet standard

A new hot food display cabinet test standard is being developed by The British Standards Institution (BSI). The standard is planned to be a Publicly Available Specification (PAS) which means it will be free to everyone.

The standard is just beginning to be developed with an initial meeting to be held at BSI on 21st July 2017. The aim is to create a performance standard that assists manufacturers in the design and development of hot food display cabinets that will improve efficiency, safety and operation. Such a standard is considered necessary as there is considerable growth and innovation within the hot food sector and a standard will ensure that the sector expands with reputable and safe products.
